Every application submitted to the authority follows an established procedure. Each step is a condition for the next: an incomplete file cannot be reviewed, and no decision is issued before the file has been fully evaluated.
The applicant sends a letter requesting import, use, storage or export, specifying whether it concerns a sealed source, an unsealed source, a radiation-generating device or equipment, and stating the activity for which it is intended.
The applicant prepares the required documents: application form, technical description, safety analysis, radiation protection plan, evidence of staff qualification and compliance certificates. The exact list of documents appears in the form corresponding to the type of activity.
The file is submitted through official channels: in person, by mail or via the digital platform. The applicant pays the file review fee and receives an acknowledgement of receipt confirming that processing has begun.
The ANSSN reviews the file and may request clarifications. It may also arrange a prior inspection to verify on-site compliance of the facilities.
After evaluation, the authority issues the authorization, refuses it, or grants it subject to conditions. The decision specifies the applicable safety obligations and the limits of use.
The holder complies with the control requirements: periodic inspections, annual reports and mandatory renewals, needed to keep the authorization in force.
