What the legal framework requires

For any structure holding or using sources or equipment emitting ionizing radiation, this body of law translates into three main obligations.

  • Obtain prior authorization before any import, possession, use, storage or export.
  • Submit to the authority's oversight which may carry out an inspection prior to its decision as well as periodic inspections thereafter.
  • Maintain the conditions of the authorization over time: reports, renewals and declaration of any change affecting the file.
